[aka he should already be there when she arrives, even if it were like two seconds.]

[ And as promised, she shows up a few minutes later from high above in the sky. She's a small, white and red dot at first before she lands on the rooftop a couple of feet from Qubit. ]

What's all the secrecy for?

[superposition]

[He does the lapel grab thing. Secrecy, what secrecy? It's not like he's about to ask her to do something illegal. Okay he might be about to ask her to do something illegal.]

Merely a precaution, naturally. This isn't something I wanted to discuss over a network, even encrypted.

[He pauses a second, ostensibly for dramatic effect, but in reality to make sure his nerves are buried good and deep under the confidence. She's not Superman, no, and definitely she's not Tony, but he's still not convinced this is 100% a good idea. Still - one must take certain risks in this line of work.]

Have you ever thought about working on a team?

[ His question gets a pause and a surprised one at that.

Peej has worked with teams probably longer than she's done the solo act, including being the chairwoman for the JSA and now leading her own team. Normally, she would not hesitate to answer, but certain situations at the back of her mind have her re-considering her response. ]

You want me on your team.

[superposition]

[Nods.] In so many words. It wouldn't be too different from what you already do, of course - saving lives, protecting the innocent at home and abroad, and all that.

If you'd be interested, I've no doubt you'd make a valuable member of the team. Miss Maryam speaks very highly of you, you know.

Kanaya, huh.

[ She'll have to speak with her later just to confirm an actual conversation took place. She's not unused to people talking about her, but lately there's been a discomfort; a kind of paranoia ever since she discovered Hunter Zolomon had pretended to be Jay Garrick, followed by an ambiguous threat she could not quite shake. She's not worried for herself, but the people around her. ]

[superposition]

[The tinge of discomfort doesn't escape him. He chooses his words carefully.]

No more than anybody else. You've been on the news every now and again, so there's that. Plus a rough appraisal of your powers. And I know you were at the City, when it ... towards the end. Why do you ask?

Can't blame a lady for being cautious.

[ Qubit's a nice guy and all, but she doesn't know that much about him. He also works for her, which complicates things a bit. ]

I'm flattered, but... [ She diverts her gaze, as if distracted by something in the distance. ] Right now I'm not looking for a team.

[ And she had wanted to build one herself, but things have changed recently. ]

[Ah. Damn. In fairness, he probably should have expected this - they really don't know each other very well, and all that. It's not like he works for her or anything. Peej is obviously a completely different person.

... But ... he doesn't want to give up so easily.]

Right now? [As in, she might be looking for one in the future? Or is that just a euphemism for "ever"?]
