[ After recent events, she's not in the mood to talk to anyone. However, it's not Karen Starr's line ringing and though she's beating herself up over losing control and avoiding others, she can't ignore what might be a call for help. ]

[ Well, that's one way to introduce yourself.

There's radio silence on her end as she tries to figure out a proper response. ]

Well, still am, I suppose. [How best to explain it...] It's my ability, I suppose. When bad things happen I turn into...that.

[Not that Connors would ever call his Lizard form an 'ability' to begin with. Nuisance was more like it.]

[ Connors doesn't sound pleased, but she needs to get this story straight. ]

Are you saying you don't have control over your power?

Exactly. I can try and repress it with medication or therapy, but when something like that happens, I don't have control.

[Doesn't sound pleased is an understatement. Connors is equal parts wrecked that it happened and tentative of the fact that Peej has really no reason to believe/trust him.]

I was sitting in the front row of a presentation when something went wrong and it...well, something went wrong, splashing chemicals everywhere. The transformation had to have been something with the chemicals because I swear to you, I was perfectly fine before that happened.

Are you in therapy or on any medication at the moment?

Both and both. I'm...I'm seeing Doctor Chilton.

Trust me, I'm doing everything possible to keep this under control. I just wanted to thank you for trying to stop me.

It's what I do. I'm just glad you're getting help for it and you don't actually want to harm people.

Is there anything I can do to help?

Well, in the meantime I'm going to advise you to stay away from mysterious chemicals and any demonstrations involving them.

You think I don't know that? [it's said in a joking tone, kind of like 'ha ha, I'm making light of this just so I don't freak out any more.']

So, I'm going to hazard a guess that that power of yours is not something you always had. Most people are able to control their powers after a certain period of time.

[ And he doesn't sound young. ]

I've had it for a while back home as well as here. The main problem with it isn't that it's hard to control--it's repressed fairly well on a daily basis. The problem is that there are so many different things that can trigger the power.

And you're not aware of all these triggers.

I'm aware of some of them. But others, like magic or...ah, that one time with a meteor, those I can't control.

Maybe there's an imPort who can help you retain control? I'd have to ask around, but I can be discreet if you'd like.

How have you been feeling otherwise?

I'm been feeling fine, [said a bit snappish. Sorry Peej. :c ] I'm in therapy, I'm taking medication, what happened at the science exposition was an accident. I'm fine.

I'm getting the help I need. What happened at the convention wasn't something anybody could control--something which I think you noticed also when you freaked out back there.
