[ He's not the same one. She knows this pain well, but so does Kal. ]

[The next text takes just a tad longer. Not much, but enough to be noticeable. He hasn't really talked about it with anyone, and he doesn't even know where to start.]

It's weird. But it's going better than I would have expected.

He's a lot like him, but he still isn't him. It will just take me a while to adapt. [And then...] I'd just lost him. Watching him and knowing it isn't him still hurts.

Jarring is the word. But it isn't fair to keep comparing the two of them in my mind, so I'm trying to stop. It isn't easy.
